Band Member named Outstanding Soloist
at the UIL Texas State Solo Contest
 |
Chris
Rzeznik, an incoming Senior at Hebron
High School, was honored for the 2nd consecutive year, as a 2008
Outstanding Soloist at the UIL Texas State Solo competition. Each
judge, hearing approximately 90 soloists over 2 days, recognizes a single
performer for this honor. Chris was one of only six alto
saxophonists to receive this honor state-wide.

Band Member to Perform with National Honor Band

Blaire
Gibson, a Junior at Hebron
High School, has been selected by Bands of America for the National Honor Band in the
2009 Tournament of Roses® Parade. Blaire was selected from among
hundreds of applicants across the nation for membership in the prestigious
honors ensemble.

Friday Night Dinners (FND).

selections ahead of time,
then sign up for
FND at the Band Fair on
Saturday, August 2nd.
When
signing up for FND,
please read the form
carefully. There
is an early release day noted
and also Nov 7th
is flagged that
"PERCUSSION IS IN
AUSTIN". Remember
percussion kids will not
be in town to
eat the meal on Nov 7th
so they should not sign
up for it. But
"non-percussion"
kids WILL be here to
participate in FND.

2008/2009
The first
version of our new
sponsorship prospectus
for the coming school
year is now available.
We are
looking for several top
sponsors and many
Friends of Band sponsors
to help offset our
fundraising costs.
If
anyone is interested in
being a band sponsor or
if you know of someone
who might be interested,
the benefits are
described on the attached
prospectus. Please
pass this along to
anyone interested.
Or let us know, and one
of our team members can
contact them for you.
Just let us know if you
have any leads, so that
we don't have more than
one person approaching a particular business.
We are
also looking for a few
more parents who are
willing to be a part of
our corporate
sponsorship committee
and are willing to go
out and approach
businesses to solicit
sponsorships for
the Band. If you
are interested in
helping or want more

Band Night at Lenny's Sub Shop
Every
Thursday eat at Lenny's between 2:30 and 9:00
and 15% of the proceeds goes to the
band. You no longer need to provide
a flyer when purchasing a meal...just tell
them you are with the Hebron Band and they
are supposed to mark the receipt that they
keep so that the Hebron Band gets credit.
